All tales have a beginning. Ours begins in an empty, frozen place, born from a single consciousness. She could not have said how long she had been there. It might have been seconds, or it might have been eons. As time passed, or perhaps as something like time passed, her consciousness slowly took shape. And with that shape came a name: Yuki.

She decided to make that place her home and crowned herself the sole heir to the vast Dimension. Yet as her world grew more beautiful, more colorful with each passing moment, the loneliness in her heart only grew. With no one to mark the passing of time, she simply existed. Until one day, something changed.

Along a path of snow, a Torii gate appeared.

Beyond it stood a lush, green forest unlike anything Princess Yuki had ever seen. As she drew closer, she heard laughter. Voices. Sounds that were entirely unfamiliar, and yet strangely comforting.

Driven by a longing for companionship, Yuki stepped through the torii gate, ascending from her lonely Dimension and into the human realm.

The light overwhelmed her. Unused to such brightness, and to the countless unfamiliar sounds surrounding her, the Princess's vision blurred. Her strength left her, and she collapsed into the grass.

Two silhouettes appeared above her. They looked down at the sleeping girl, then smiled at one another.

At last.

Here was the third Miko they had been searching for.
